Starting 2025 with a bang was always important, and I elected the “being 26 days late with your Record o’ the Year post” as the best possible way to give everyone that patented Angry Metal Guy feeling of waiting and waiting only to be smacked in the face with 5000 words that you disagree with entirely. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Executive Dysfunction™! Let’s make a list!
The Skies Above Eternity
Record(s) o’ the Month – November 2024
The November Record(s) o’ the Month are somewhat timely. This is the only present you’ll be getting from AMG this year. HUMBUG!
Fellowship – The Skies Above Eternity Review
“If there had never been a second Fellowship record, I would have been okay. Obviously, I wanted another Fellowship record—and, ideally, biennial releases from England’s premiere life-affirming, self-worth-preserving power metal outfit—but I’ve known since the first time I heard The Saberlight Chronicles that there would never be another Fellowship record like it. Not only would their sophomore album be unable to re-invoke the wonder I felt upon hearing a full-length Fellowship release for the first time, but it would also be nigh impossible for them to recapture the exact vibe of that record after two years of added experience.” Oh no, did the Fellowship fail?
